Mariam Giorgadze
Travel writer
Born in Tbilisi, still eating her way through it.
Background
Mariam is a travel writer born and raised in Tbilisi. For years she walked visiting friends through the same loop of the old town, the baths, the khinkali table and the wine bar, until her list of recommendations got long enough to become a website.
Every guide here gets researched the same way: go, pay, eat it or climb it, and write down what it cost in lari and whether it was worth the walk. When a place slips, the guide gets rewritten or the place comes out.
Off duty she is usually hunting courtyards in Sololaki, arguing over who makes the best khinkali in town, or on a marshrutka to somewhere with a view.
